31.01.2018. Following the first meetings of the Fit to Drive Topical Group (link accessible only to members) that were held on 4 – 5 October 2017 in Brussels, the creation of the sub group 2 ”Setting standards for the evaluation of medical fitness to drive” was approved by the CIECA Permanent Bureau on 8 December 2017. The aim of the group´s work is: ”To create an arena for European dialogue and comparisons between countries best practices to find recommendations on standards and procedures in evaluating Medical Fitness to Drive (MFTD).”
Therefore CIECA is making preparations for the next meetings of the Fit to Drive Topical Group, which will take place in Brussels on
27 February 2018 - Fit to Drive sub group 1: Setting Standards for Disabled Driver Assessment, which comprises the work streams 1.a knowledge, skills and training of assessors, and 1.b assessment techniques / technical issues / driver licence coding (updating of Portare Handbook), and
28 February 2018 - Fit to Drive sub group 2: Setting standards for the evaluation of medical fitness to drive.
