21.10.2011. The 4th ECOWILL Consortium Meeting took place in Warsaw from 11 to 12 October 2011. ECOWILL (eco-driving-widespread implementation for learner drivers and licensed drivers) is a 36 month project funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) programme of the European Union and coordinated by the Austrian Energy Agency (AEA). The ECOWILL consortium is assisted by an "Eco-driving Advisory Board" (EAB) of which CIECA is part.
The ECOWILL project aims to reduce carbon emission by up to 8 Mt until 2015 by boosting the application of eco-driving all over Europe. To reach this ambitious target the project rolls out short duration eco-driving snack training programs for licensed drivers in 13 EU-countries (Austria, UK, Finland, the Netherlands, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Croatia, Italy, Spain and Germany) and at the same time promotes the education of learner drivers in eco-driving. By aiming at the driving school curricula and the driver test ECOWILL strives to have a sustainable lasting effect beyond the conclusion of the project.
