Assessment Workshop, Brussels 4-5 November 2010
On 4 and 5 November 2010 CIECA organised for its members a workshop on assessment in Brussels.
The workshop aimed at explaining the differences between a pure fault-based assessment system and a more holistic overall competency-based assessment, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages and explaining and reviewing the work carried out so far in CIECA member states. It further provided the opportunity to discuss the different steps to be taken when changing from a fault-based to a competency-based system and focused on the overall aim of improving novice driver safety. In addition, the workshop opened up the possibility for CIECA members and external experts to get together and develop a common understanding of best practice in competency-based assessment.
